Ephesue

Overview

Ephesus, located near modern-day Selçuk in Turkey’s Central Aegean region, is an ancient city that showcases a rich history spanning classical Greece, the Roman Empire, and the early Christian era. Once a major commercial hub of the Mediterranean, its well-preserved ruins include paved streets, grand squares, and ancient baths. Among its notable landmarks is the Temple of Hadrian, constructed before 138 A.D. to honor Emperor Hadrian’s visit.
