Princes Island
Overview
The Princes’ Islands are a group of nine islands located southeast of Istanbul in the Sea of Marmara. Known for their peaceful, car-free environment, the islands are famous for horse-drawn carriages (phaetons) that transport visitors around. Büyükada, the largest island, is home to the 6th-century Hagia Yorgi Church, which offers panoramic views from its highest point. Nearby, the pine forests of Dil Burnu National Park provide a serene escape. The Museum of the Princes’ Islands showcases the rich history and cultural heritage of the islands.
